It’s a three-way duel to the death as the Batman, Mr. Kadaver and the Burning Man all meet as the saga of the Night People concludes. Plus: DC BONUS BOOK #5, showcasing the new wave of DC talent: Poison Ivy is out of prison and unknowingly carrying a deadly disease that could decimate Gotham in 12 hours unless the Batman can find her.
- Night People: Part Three - The Burning Pit (Alan Grant & John Wagner - writers; Norm Breyfogle - artist; Todd Klein - letterer; Adrienne Roy - colorist; Denny O'Neil - editor). Kadaver attempted to extort Phil Hobart, who'd come by to pay for the hit. Hobart was nephew to the deceased, Dalton "California" Walls, a former millionaire who lived on the streets. Batman arrived at Kadaver's with the killer; Mitchel showed up thereafter where he was forced into a pit of quicklime. The quicklime seemed to neutralize the "Corrosive Man."
- Bonus Book No.5: For the Love of Ivy (Lewis Klahr & Steve Piersall - story; Dean Haspiel - pencils; Denis Rodier - inks; Dan McKinnon - letters, colors; Denny O'Neil - editor). Batman happened upon a dying man with ties to Poison Ivy. After seeing Ivy and going to her doctor, he learned that she was dying - the immunities that made her almost involnerable were breaking down. The doctor assured them she'd have a complete recovery in time.
